Communication from our spirit friends is given to us from their minds, which are able to conceive a world more infinite that the one we can, therefore often times it is very difficult for us with a finite mind, to totally comprehend that which is being communicated. The phenomena that joins the world of spirit with the earth vibration in this particular way has a remarkable history, and it is called Physical Mediumship.

Presently there are very few individuals in the world whose bodies can be used as the medium for this rare type of communication, and materialization evidence; one such individual is David Thompson.

You might ask, how can spirit people make themselves physical?

We asked William (see image top left) our friend and guide in the Spirit World to explain how this extraordinary process was taking place, and here is what William said:

“If I could describe to you this: due to the vibration of young David that is emanating from his physical body, I am able to interpenetrate that of the earth’s vibration by means of my etheric body vibration changes. I am then able to coat myself into a physical ectoplasmic form; then I am able to be here within the earth environment; but when the energy depletes it is much more difficult for materialization and communication to take place, so the need is for the energy to be produced, so often by yourselves, to help the energy of the young man within the chair: to substantiate the energy levels and keep them at such a level that I myself and others are able to commune.”

What is meant by vibration?

Why do people in the spirit world wish to communicate with us?

The simple answer is, those who communicate from the Spirit World wish to dissolve the mystery of physical death and that they are happy and safe in the wonderful new environment in which they dwell.  When we discard with the ‘overcoat’ of our physical body, we still retain our personality and individuality and thus when individuals communicate back to the earth they will use their uniqueness to bring across proof of their survival of physical death, and spiritual understanding, that helps to alleviate our pain of grief and provide the realisation that we do live on.

Did you know there are different types of Mediumship?

1. Mental Mediumship - The simple mechanics of what takes place are this, the spirit world oscillates, or vibrates, at a much greater rate than the earth environment, so a spirit person wishing to communicate has to greatly slow their vibration down to be perceived here.  A medium has the ability to discern the spirit individual when they step within the medium's aura and using their heightened sensitivity interprets what the spirit person is trying to convey.  The more refined the vibration of the medium, and the environment the connection is taking place in, the easier it is for the spirit person to communicate.  This is why mediumship development is very much dependant on the medium's level of spirituality in addition to their inherent mediumistic ability.  What is meant by spirituality?
   

Whilst there are various aspects of mental mediumship, we have outlined three main faculties:

Clairsentience:    The medium senses the spirit person and interprets through feelings

Clairvoyance:      The medium views those in Spirit normally by means of seeing the person in their mind's eye.   This can sometimes feel and look like the spirit person is physically in the room but in actual fact they are seeing through clairvoyant vision. 

Clairaudience:   The medium hears the spirit person usually by means of hearing, either subjectively and/or objectively.  

1. Trance Mediumship 
   

An Extraordinary form of mediumship ranging from deep trance where the medium's consciousness is in a state of suspended animation allowing their trusted friends who some may call guides in the spirit world to make use of their vocal cords and sometimes their bodily movements to converse with those present (very much like in the 80's film Ghost staring Whoopi Goldberg) to light trance at the other end of the spectrum when the medium is giving a conscious, inspired talk, the spirit person, will lightly overshadow (influence) the medium to inspire their thoughts.

Trance mediumship should not be confused with channelling as with deep uncontrolled trance the spirit communicator uses the medium’s vocal cords and therefore is able to replicate their own voice and speak directly to those present and the medium has no memory of what takes place.

David Thompson conducts deep trance demonstrations in full light allowing his trusted friend and learned individual William, who passed from this life over 100 years ago to communicate directly through the use of his vocal cords.  Those in attendance have direct access to raise questions and listen to the direct responses from the spirit world.
