Physical Mediumship – Rarest Form of Mediumship Known

This type of mediumship has the greatest ability to cut out the medium. During a materilisation séance those in the world of spirit can appear in physical form using the medium’s life force (ectoplasm) to replicate themselves, so they become fully present in the room.  Physical Mediumship cuts out ‘channelling’ because the spirit speaks for him or herself in their own voice, when you hear or feel them you will be left with little doubt.  When you hear the voice of a loved one that has passed into spirit, you will know who it is, even though others in the room may not especially when they speak directly to you about personal or family matters or they invite you to hug them.  When it comes to historical figures or famous and gifted musicians and singers like ‘Louis Armstrong’ many may have had enough exposure to his music to recognize his singing voice should he also choose to communicate.  Which in fact he has on many occasions.

Loved ones are reunited, learned individuals from the spirit world speak on matters of spirituality and take questions from those present, and other  phenomena can take place such as the medium being levitated into the air and completely moved to metres away from where he was bound and fastened in his seat.  Our minds are the only limit to what is possible. 

Why might the medium be bound and fastened into his/her seat?

When our brain can’t rationalize, for example, how the medium was moved from point A to point B in the room (levitated by those in spirit) it starts to tell us that trickery or fraud must have been involved, but in fact the brain does this because it’s only familiar with the laws that govern the physical world and not the spiritual world and when those in spirit visit they can manipulate our laws because they have knowledge of both.

In the case of physical medium David Thompson, he chooses to be fastened and bound and gagged so anyone experiencing a séance for themselves can see, test and convince themselves that it would be physically impossible for him to have broken free from the chair, the gag least of all, the number of cable ties fastening his arms and legs and body to the chair to move himself into the air and across the room.

What’s ectoplasm?

Ectoplasm is a key ingredient spirit people need in order to make themselves ‘physical’ in the séance environment.  Every person has it in his or her body, it’s a life force agent and does have weight.  Spirit people borrow a large amount of this ingredient from the body of the Medium and they (the spirit people who materialize in the room) are attached to the medium by this substance; it is a physical connection.

At times ectoplasm is visible in the séance environment as it has a certain luminescence. Extracting and working with ectoplasm is a very delicate and complex science.  When ectoplasm is drawn out of the medium’s body he/she is in an extremely vulnerable state as ectoplasm is a very fragile substance and extremely light sensitive.  If exposed to any unrequested artificial light it has the same effect as boiling water does on snow.  This has severe consequences for the medium, as whilst the spirit people communicating are independent from the medium, the ectoplasm that they are using is still attached to the medium.

This is why séances are held in complete darkness.  The spirit world is working to develop the conditions, by means of creating optimum harmony in the room, so that they can be seen.

Strict protocols need to be observed by all present at séances to ensure the medium's safety and so that those in attendance have the peace of mind that there is nothing fraudulent taking place and can satisfy themselves with the authenticity of proceedings throughout the entire sitting.

What is a séance?

Séance means meeting/sitting and whilst it may have negative connotations for some it is a term merely used to describe a meeting of the two worlds in love and harmony which is afforded the highest  protection.  Physical mediumship through the use of ectoplasm is one of the safest means of communication with the Spirit World as the medium’s guide and meeting protector can control who and when someone from the Spirit World communicates.
