On the 22nd of September 2008 I had the absolute privilege of being present at a Séance with the David Thompson and the Circle of the Silver Cord. We entered the room which had been set up the room had been completely blacked out. David showed us where he would like us to sit. I was sitting on the left hand side Another sitter and I were then asked to check each of the members of the Silver Cord to ensure that there was nothing hiding up a sleeve. I padded down each of the ladies to find nothing. I was then asked to watch and inspect how David was bound to the chair. There were two new packets of cable ties, we opened them and I tested one to ensure that it was indeed a real cable tie. It was very strong and I could not break it once it had been closed. David then proceeded to put the ties through his cardigan so that it was not just the buttons holding it closed. There was a series of cable ties on the chair so that a strap could be held securely to the chair. David arms where strapped to the chair – a cable tie was then looped through the strap to ensure that no one could undo the straps. David would need to be cut out to be able to move. I personally saw how secure he was strapped into the chair. It looked uncomfortable. He was then gagged, and a cable tie placed around the knot to ensure that it was not removed. I had checked the room, in the cabinet, behind the cabinet, there was nothing in the room that could be used for trickery. The room was secure. Music was played then, not long after William had materialized. He said “I have fully materialized to prove this I will clap my hands and stamp my feet” as he did noise came from the middle of the room. It was not from the cabinet – We had met William the night before during a trance demonstration, the way he spoke and the accent was the same as the night before. William then answered questions from the sitters. I had asked a question on the transition of the spirit to the physical plane the night before and I wanted some clarification. I wanted to know how to make it a harmonious experience; before he answered my questions he referred to the fact that I had checked the binds of David. William then said that they were going to do something that they had only done once before. He asked us to hold hands, he then proceeded to draw more ectoplasm and then came to each of us in turn and touched us. William had said that they trusted each of us - as it is very dangerous for the medium as if someone grabs at the ectoplasm it can seriously harm David. He squeezed my shoulders his voice was behind us. At this stage I have absolutely no doubt that this is real. Timothy then did his trumpet light show. This too was incredible. The illuminated rings on the trumpets where dancing around the room at great speed and very agile. He asked that the music keep playing until he had returned to the spot where he started. He then danced around the room and proceeded to touch each one of us on the head and shoulders. He touched my head and did a circle and bounced it around before moving to the next person. After the light show there were messages from some loved ones. The person sitting to my left had a spirit friend come to talk to him. The messages were beautiful and so full of love I was very close to tears. Hal Bloomsbury announced that Louis Armstrong was to about to perform a song and he also asked for a harmonica to be placed in the centre of the room which was done. Louis came though and sang wonderful world – he then did a song on the harmonica and tap danced at the same time. This was incredible. William returned to announce that it was time to finish as they had used much ectoplasm from David. As the music was being played we heard a loud thump in the middle of the room. David had been levitated from the cabinet to the middle of the room. I was then asked to check the binds – they were all still intact, However David’s cardigan was now on backwards. It had been dematerialized and rematerialized – I saw this with my own eyes. If I had not seen this with my own eyes I would of claimed how could this be done – it’s impossible, let me tell you this was real, this really happened. As William left he said “nothing is left to chance all is as it should be” How true was this statement? I have started my spiritual development only in earnest in the last 4 months – years earlier I had searched for the truth and only found some “airy fairy" spiritual information that did not suit my down to earth nature. Then my best friend convinced me to go the spiritualist sanctuary in Perth. I did. I found what I was looking for. I went to all the workshops, development evenings whilst doing this I found out about David Thompson and physical mediumship, all of the people that were in these workshops where going to the séance – I was in awe, I wished I could go but I dare not ask as I thought to myself I did not want to be rude. As the time got closer to the event the more excited people were, I must admit I was getting a little sad, so I respectfully asked my spirit friends and helpers, “If you think I am ready could you please talk with the organisers, could I please go to the séance as well” The very next day I had a phone call from the president asking me if I would like to join them at the séance. She didn’t have to ask me twice. So I would say to you if you ever get the opportunity to sit in a séance with David Thompson and the Circle of the Silver Cord please take the once in a life time opportunity I would like to thank David and the Circle of the Silver Cord; I would also like to thank Christine Morgan and the committee of the Spiritualist Sanctuary Perth for all of the hard work to get David to come to Perth.
