I was one of the sixty people in Auckland that was invited to experience the Spirit phenomena in David Thompson’s three séances held at the Spiritualist Alliance Church in New Market. In the first séance, I sat between two first attendees to a séance. William Caldwell answered questions that the man on my right asked, and the man on my left asked,this man’s brother came through to talk to him, with conformation by slapping him across the face as he always did when he was on the earth plan as evidence of survival of his soul. This alone was all I needed to make my evening an extra good one, as both men were very happy with the séance and the evidence they received, from the materializations that occurred that night. I have been to most of David’s séances that have been in NZ but this second séance was up to now, the most spectacular and evidential one I have attended. I saw phenomena that I could only be seen by attending a séance such as David Thompson’s. One young man received a ring from his sister in Spirit, which is called an Apport. William Caldwell opened the curtain while David Thompson was in trance, and let us all see ectoplasm on the front of David’s body by turning on a red light which is very dangerous for a materialization Medium to do, due to the light emanating from the glow of the red bulb, as has been the case when other mediums have been injured or in Helen Duncan’s case later died from being exposed to light. From this episode there were three photos taken of the ectoplasm emanating from David Thompson’s mouth. This séance was well planned by Spirit, and that is why the camera was in the séance room with us. The curtain was then closed around David Thompson and the séance continued. The phenomenon that I have been privileged to witness is well documented by these photos. With the third séance that I attended, I had asked Spirit in my prayers over the last three months, that my wife Wendy Phillips could get a message of healing from her loved ones in the Spirit world, My wife, Wendy could not get to the first two séances due to a virus which could of killed David Thompson in his altered state, but she managed to get to the last one. William Caldwell came through as usual, and acknowledged Wendy and her achievements with her Psychic Art, which was a nice surprise for her. I had a first time person again sitting by me, and I spoke to William Caldwell stating this was his first time, as I felt he would not speak up. I never did on my first two or three times sitting with other new comers however I found that this young man had many Questions to ask, and he said that he had a very eye opening experience afterward the séance concluded. William Caldwell shook his hand, by removing my hand from the young man’s first, I did resist a little bit as I first thought the young man was trying to break our grip himself ,so William Caldwell had to pull our hands apart . We join hands to prove that no one in the room is moving about. This, as in the first séance, was what I liked to see, young people getting involved and accepting the evidence that Spirit and David Thompson go to great lengths, to prove that the Spirit World is a reality. Wendy Phillips (my wife), her God-Father, Uncle Jim, materialized and walked to Wendy. He then proceeded to talk and tell her that our little dog Bridey, who had just passed to the Spirit World was with him, and his wife, (Wendy’s God-Mother) Nina. He also acknowledged that her other dog Honey was with them. This answered my prayers for Wendy, I was very pleased, and Uncle Jim then walked over to me, and shook my hand very tightly thus giving me more evidence of survival of the soul, which finished the three séances for me that I attended on a very high note.
